> Column-level Lineage is not currently supported for Microsoft Fabric.

**Steps to complete:**

1. [Create a service principal in Microsoft Entra](https://docs.datafold.com/classic/integrations/databases/microsoft-fabric.md#create-a-service-principal-in-microsoft-entra)
2. [Configure your data connection in Datafold](https://docs.datafold.com/classic/integrations/databases/microsoft-fabric.md#configure-in-datafold)

### Create a service principal in Microsoft Entra

Datafold connects to Microsoft Fabric with a Microsoft Entra ID service principal.

1. In Microsoft Entra, register an application and create a client secret for it.
2. Note the **Directory (tenant) ID**, the **Application (client) ID**, and the client secret value.
3. Give the service principal access to the Fabric workspace that contains your warehouse.

### Configure in Datafold

| Field Name | Description |
| - | - |
| Connection name | A name given to the data connection within Datafold |
| Endpoint | The SQL connection string of your warehouse, for example `your-endpoint.datawarehouse.fabric.microsoft.com` |
| Database | The name of the warehouse you want to connect to |
| Tenant ID | The Microsoft Entra ID tenant ID |
| Application (Client) ID | The application (client) ID of the service principal |
| Client Secret | The client secret of the service principal |
| Schema path for temporary tables | A schema where the service principal can create tables, as `<database>.<schema>` (for example `my_warehouse.datafold_tmp`). Required. |
| Session initialization script | Optional. SQL to run on every new connection |

Click **Create**. Your data connection is ready!
